Even over a month after I've seen Darren Aronofsky's mother! I still can't get it out of my head. This is the kind of movie that sticks with you and embeds itself within your very psyche. It's disturbing, shocking, over-the-top and bereft of anything possibly related to subtlety. But that's partially why it's so great. It's damn near unheard of to see a major Hollywood release take so many chances and commit so fully to being provocative and unsafe. Even if you hate this movie, you have to admit that in a perfect world there'd be more films as risky as it is.
