[Revisit Review]
I had forgotten how amazing Andrea Arnold's Fish Tank is. The ending scene completely gutted me; it remains one of the best uses of hip-hop in film history. Although I had forgotten about the sequence where Mia, the protagonist, kidnaps Michael Fassbender's daughter. The scene where the girl falls into the river almost gave me a heart attack. Fish Tank may be Arnold's most brutal film. Yet it's also strangely optimistic.
