Assassination Classroom: Eiichirō Hasumi

Eiichirō Hasumi's Assassination Classroom may not be very good, but it's pretty damn entertaining. My big problems isn't with the set-up--a demon-like tentacle beast threatens to blow up the planet if a classroom of Japanese middle-schoolers can't kill him and oh by the way he happens to be their teacher, too--but with the world-building. If he blew up the moon, why hasn't Japan been ruined by monstrous tsunamis? It's said that he can move at Mach 20. If that's the case, why doesn't he cause catastrophic sonic booms whenever he does so? I know that it's based off a manga and applying science to manga is sorta like applying science to Silver Age Comic Books, but it still ruined my suspension of disbelief. I do think the film should be studied alongside Kill la Kill and Battle Royale (2000): why does so much modern Japanese media revolve around teenagers killing each other? Japanese high school must be more traumatic than any of us thought.
